Marko Grujic is likely to go on loan to a Championship club for the second half of the season. Klopp is keen for the 21-year-old Serbian to gain experience after finding his opportunities limited so far this season.
Premier League sides Huddersfield Town and West Ham have expressed an interest but Liverpool have been seeking guarantees that Grujic would start matches rather than simply be a squad player.
Galatasaray wanted to take him to Turkey but Klopp is adamant that Grujic, who cost the Reds £5.1million from Red Star Belgrade in January 2016, won’t be going abroad.
Klopp rates Grujic highly and still sees him as part of his long-term plans. He wants him to stay in England to continue his development. (James Pearce)
Klopp will buy a goalkeeper in the summer with Roma’s Alisson a target, although negotiations on a fee could prove difficult given Liverpool recruited Mohamed Salah for an initial £36.9 million from the Italians.
The Brazil goalkeeper Alisson, who does not have a buy-out clause and is valued at around £44 million, is aware his reputation is soaring and said a decision on his future would be made after the World Cup.
Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak is another potential candidate, although the Slovenian has a €100 million (about £89 million) buy-out clause. (Paul Joyce)
