Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has dismissed rumours that he could leave the club this summer, insisting that he is happy with life at the Emirates



The Spaniard, who was speaking at the launch of Arsenal’s new Puma kits, where he modelled the new home strip dubbed the ‘forever’ edition, said that he is relishing the level of responsibility handed to him by boss Arsene Wenger and is looking to repay that faith next season.

“I can’t stop the rumours, but what I am certain is that I’m really happy here, I feel valued, I have been given a lot of responsibility and I like it. Until they think something different about me, I’m happy.

“I had a conversation with the manager. He knows my opinion and we’re fine,” he said.

It proved to be an evening of celebration for the club, after it was announced that Arsenal had landed Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona in a deal believed to be in the region of £33m.

Arteta admitted his excitement at the signing and believes it is a statement of the club’s ambitions for next season.

“I met him this morning and he looked excited. He had many options and he decided to join us which makes us very proud. He likes the sound of the Arsenal and I’m excited by his arrival.

"It’s a big statement for the club to say early on [in the transfer window], 'OK let’s go and get one of the best strikers in the world at the moment.'

"They have convinced him to come and I can’t wait to see him play."

Ja bih rek'o da je smijesno da dovedes Mourinha i skrsis silne novce i na kraju sezonu zavrsis bez trofeja, a recimo jedan limitiran Moyes digne trofej.
