Manchester United is delighted to announce it has completed the signing of Antonio Valencia from Wigan Athletic on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old Ecuador international has played 34 times for his country, scoring four goals.

Jack Rodwell na meti Manchester Uniteda

Čini se kako se Crveni vragovi spremaju na kupnju još jednog iznimno talentiranog igrača Evertona...

Manchester United je navodno spreman dati ponudu za mladog stopera Evertona Jacka Rodwella; piše The People.

18-godišnjak ne prestaje impresionirati otkad se prošle sezone probio u prvu momčad Evertona, a trenutno se sa mladom engleskom reprezentacijom nalazi na Europskom U21 prvenstvu u Švedskoj, gdje su se mladi igrači Gordog Albiona izborili svoje mjesto u finali, koje je na rasporedu danas.

Mladi branič, kojega nazivaju 'novim Rijom Ferdinandom, je sve iznenadio svojom smirenošću i sposobnošću da izbori svoje mjesto u prvoj momčadi Evertona, a nakon ozljeda koje su pogodile klub sa Goodison Park, Rodwell se pokazao kao odlično rješenje u zadnjem redu, te je upisao nekoliko vrlo dobrih nastupa.

Sada se čini kako je uspio privući pažnju momčadi iz 'velike četvorke', i to Manchester Uniteda.

Menadžer Sir Alex Ferguson želi pojačati svoju momčad ua obranu ligaškog naslova sljedeće sezone, a vjeruje se kako je među željenim pojačanjima i mladi igrač Evertona.

FIFA pokušava 'progurati' pravilo '6+5' u Ligu prvaka, a United bi u tom slučaju na terenu trebao imati šest igrača koji mogu nastupati za englesku reprezentaciju, stoga ne čudi interes za mladog stopera.

Rodwell je svoju priliku u Evertonovoj U18 momčadi dobio već sa 14 godina, a u prvoj momčadi Evertona je već sakupio 21 ligaški nastup.

Dosta dobro je pojacanje Valencia, ali po meni nam treba jos najmanje dva igraca. Jedno krilo i jedan centarfor. Mozda Benzema i Robben (bolji Ribery, ali ne da Bayern). Iako ne vjerujem da ce Robben doc. Jednostavno Benzema mora doc, jer otisli su i Ronaldo i Tevez. I prosle godine smo imali malo problema u napadu a sad je otiso najbolji strijelac. mora neko to nadoknadit. A jedina realna opcija je Benzema.

Miralem Pjanic has revealed that his Lyon team-mate Karim Benzema is close to joining Manchester United.

The forward has been linked with a move away from Lyon this summer and even numerous claims from his agent that he will stay has not quelled the speculation.

Now, Pjanic has told sportsport.ba that he thinks it is just a matter of time before Benzema moves to England.

"Benzema is nearly gone to Old Trafford. The English club are willing to pay €45 million for him and it is just a question of the day when he will move to England," he said.

"He does not have anything against going to Manchester. Our side will be reinforced by Lisandro Lopez, the Argentine forward from Porto."

Certainly Benzema seems like an ideal signing for United as the club will lose the goals that attacking midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo provided.

At the age of 21, Benzema is widely regarded as one of the best forwards in Europe at the moment and whilst Lyon will not let him leave on the cheap, they have already admitted they might be powerless to keep him.

However, the French club's director of communications said that they have not concluded a deal with anyone. “We certainly did receive an offer of a sum appreciably superior to the sum that has been mentioned, but nothing says that it comes from Real,” Olivier Blanc told L’Equipe. “There is no agreement with anyone.”
