Manchester United are reportedly tracking prolific Galatasaray star Burak Yilmaz and could land him for as little as £10million.

According to a report from talkSPORT, Sir Alex Ferguson was impressed with what he saw in the Old Trafford club’s meeting with the Turkish side in this season’s Champions League group stages.

Yilmaz scored the only goal of the game when Manchester United lost in Istanbul on November 20 last year and the report claims Ferguson has been keeping track of him since.

The Turkey international was in sensational scoring form for a number of seasons with former club Trabzonspor and has continued this since moving to Gala in the summer.

Yilmaz has scored four times in his last three games and has struck on 12 occasions in 18 league appearances this season.

Manchester United have an abundance of attacking talent with the likes of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck all contributing this season.


Such an embarrassment of riches would make a move for Yilmaz something of a surprise, unless one from the current quartet is offloaded.

Yilmaz has also be given some serious opposition at Galatasaray in the striking department as former Chelsea star Didier Drogba joined them in the January transfer window.

Arsenal and Manchester United are set to battle it out for Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabye in the summer, according to the Daily Express.

Cabye has impressed since making the move to St James' Park in 2011 from Lille for £4.8 million, and has been linked with a move to one of the Premier League's top four for some time.



Manchester United, whose perennial search for a creative midfielder has seen them linked with a host of players, were reportedly interested in landing the Frenchman at the start of the season, while Cabaye himself claimed Tottenham tried to make a move for him last summer.

Toon boss Alan Pardew has previously admitted he would be powerless to stop a bigger club poaching Newcastle's best players in the past - and said that if Manchester United want Cabaye to be the "next Paul Scholes" it would cost them "a shedload of money".
