My memories of those first days he arrived here are a bit vague because I didn't have the possibility to follow and watch much of my beloved Milan, but I do remember how I first got familiar with his name.


It's July 2002, my cousins are here with me and we are still arguing about whether Brazil deserved the World Cup or not.

Well, I was too biased but deep inside believed that they did deserved it with the way R9-R10-R11 ripped one back-line after the other in those unbelievably humid days in Korea and Japan, but my then 13-year-old heart was with Paolo Maldini and Gabriel Batistuta and I would give everything to see either captain lift the most beautiful trophy in the world.

Anyway.

I was looking for a way to make fun of Brazil's players since the two assholes were teasing me by insulting Batistuta and calling him names.
I searched for something in Brazil's official page in FIFA.com and found a great thing.

"Look at the name of this poor bastard." I mused.
"What is it? The younger one asked. [They didn't and still don't know a word in English]
"It's Kaka' Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah..."

And I kept faking laughing but they didn't care, because they found out Sorin looks much like a primitive monkey.

And it went on and on.



One year passed and I didn't have the slightest idea who the hell this Kak-something is and almost forgot about the name I ridiculed that day.

I got FIFA 2003 and Kaka's rating was 64 out of 99, which was too weak for my liking. I'd go with Shevchenko supported by Rui Costa, Rivaldo and Seedorf.

Such a fantastic line-up and another reason for my cousins to torture me by not letting me pick my favorite ACM, and their phony reason was that Milan had Rivaldo and they love Rivaldo so I can't pick "THEIR" favorite team.
They were so mean.

So, again I had no chance to know this mysterious boy from no man's land better.

But as the 2003-04 season progressed and I could watch some of our games, I started to wonder who's this tall Joined-eyebrows midfielder.

His pace and beautiful technique mesmerized me and despite the fact that Rui Costa was one of my hot favorites, I felt a deep affection for our new player, Kaka, as they named him.


2003-04 ended in an incredibly pleasant way with Milan showing immense consistency throughout the campaign, so much that Juve's crazy-strong team were out-muscled and we won the Scudetto for the first time since 1999.


Now it was 2004-05, Giorgio Armani's marketing managers decided Kaka's eyebrows need some trimming and did their best to make him look good enough to be their top model, after all his on-field quality was matched by his amazing body and only the face was left to be prettified.

Gay stuff aside, Kaka was arguably better than his 2006-07 version in 04-05, because he played more than 50 matches and was the driving force of a team that went far in UCL but lost devastatingly.

He was elected as UEFA's club midfielder of the year and I was proud of him in PES and FIFA as well.

That was pretty much how Kaka began life in Milan, I just wanted to give you a personal impression.

Let the rest of the story be, you know it way better than I do.

I've probably done too many threads on Kaka during my two-year membership in Goal.com forums, but I can't get enough.

I feel insane when I jump out of the oblivion after looking for Kaka at Milan's squad in FIFA 11 and/or PES 2011, but I find that oblivion an instinctive thing.


I can forget how he eliminated Celtic on his own.
I can forget how he kept us in the game in the first leg against Bayern.
I can forget how he killed Liverpool by (IMO) two assists in '07.

I can forget how irresistible he and Sheva looked together.
I can forget how grateful Il Capitano looked everytime the majestic no.22 scored for us.
I can forget his unreal-looking through-ball to Crespo in Istanbul nightmare.
I can forget his solo-goal to Fenerbahce.
I can forget his 40m missile against Inter.


But I can't forget the 2006-07 loss to ManU when our golden boy looked like the best player in the history of the game, the way his every single touch smelled like a goal, the way we felt as if we've won it 7-0 despite actually losing 3-2.

I can't forget his 'I BELONG TO JESUS' undershirt.
I can't forget the way he pointed to the sky by both hands to show us who helped him succeed.
I can't forget how delirious he looked after the goals he scored against Fener and Celtic.

And I can't forget his smile, the innocent-looking smile that never faded until 2009.
I can't forget how hopeful and spirited he always was and how he never lost his cool in a six year stay here.


Ricky, you know, we know. Believe me, we know.
You don't need to say anything, no alibi needed to convince us.
We know it all.

It takes a great deal of courage to express your sadness in leaving your ex-club you feel more belongingness toward after completing a 70m move to the riches family in town, and that in your first official press conference.


Kaka turns 29 tomorrow, can you believe it? I'm not lying: 29!!!
It sure is too hard to digest, and it makes me feel like I'm 50, because I just thought Kaka won the Ballon d'Or yesterday, not four years ago.


Come back boyo, come back to us. We'll embrace you like we used to, we promise.
You won't be the all-conquering prince you once were, too many wounds have unfairly weakened you, but one thing is for sure: you will be loved, and will never be shoved away.


Do you remember how we sang "Kakao Meravigliao" for you? We still can buddy, it's just that there's been no occasion to sing it on since two years ago.


Forget about your birthday, you'll have many more like it.
Just pack your bags, book a ticket and be here by July, OK?

A couple of weeks ago I was in this neighborhood, which houses mostly the working class.

Like every little street in Tehran and generally Iran, there were kids sweating their ass off under the angry sun playing the beautiful game.

There was this very little boy who wasn't playing (most probably left out of the squad!!!), I guess he was like 0.6m tall or something (I'm joking), with a Milan shirt so loose that it had almost reached poor bugger's slender knees.

So I really wanted to talk to him. I went forward and asked, "What is this shirt you're wearing? Whose is it?"

"It's Ossé Milan's shirt, and I borrowed it from my bro." The Lilliputian kid replied.

"No, I meant do you know who wears the no.22 of Ossé Milan?" I asked again.

"Well, it's Kaka's." He wasn't unsure when he said that.

- "But he's gone buddy! Why don't you get the no.7 this year?" I wasn't giving up on enlightening the boy.

"Kaka's not gone! Says who? But I know the no.7 anyway. Chefchemko wears that!!!" He triumphantly announced.

- "How do you know?".

"I pick Ossé Milan in Pess and I know all the players. Nesta, Pillo, Seedolf, Cafo, Serjinio, Estaam..." He was talking about Pro Evolution Soccer, but actually pronounced it Pess and the rest of our players sounded different on his funny tongue.

- "And which one do you play?"

- "The latest. The new one my bro got from his pal a while ago."

- "Which would be what?"

- "The latest sir, 2005. Hey, do you know Ossé Milan?"

- "Yeah, a little. Certainly not as much as you do. You gotta be a commentator dude. You know them real good!"

"[broad smile] Yeah yeah, my buddies tell me that a lot!" (I guess he was lying.)


He wasn't joking about the Videogame though. They've been playing it for a long time I suppose. The 2005 version was a good one though.

I wanted to get him the 2011 version but I thought their PC shouldn't be a monster and can't handle that.

But it made my day.

I felt incredibly charged up when he mentioned those players.
I went back home and quickly reinstalled my PES 2005 DVD and played it with such enthusiasm I hadn't had for a while.

It was so nice to hear from a 5-year-old about Milan. A breath of fresh air in a time that every Football fan gets a Barcelona jersey as soon as possible and claims they've been a huge fan since 1998.

At least this tiny creature wasn't sucked into that and wasn't wearing the no.10 Ronaldinho shirt! Although he knew Nonaldinio pretty well too!

Milan “following a phenomenon” from Ligue 1

AC MILAN are monitoring a midfielder from France, according to FIFA agent.

The France league is full with young players and Milan are keeping a big eye on a certain midfielder from Ligue 1 according to Gianluca Tizi, a FIFA agent and a guest on “Solo Calcio Mondo”.

Tizi claims that he had met with Milan sporting Director Ariedo Braida and the latter told him that the Rossoneri are closely tracking a midfielder from the French league.

“We are closely following a midfielder from France, who is a phenomenon,” Braida told Tizi.

It is now being suggested that this midfielder is either Lille’s Eden Hazard or Rennes’ Yann M’Vila.
