Rovers pull out of deal for Hoffenheim striker

Blackburn boss Steve Kean is facing a crisis after his bosses scrapped a £6million swoop for Vedad Ibisevic.

The Hoffenheim forward was due to join before the deadline but Rovers pulled out over worries about when he’ll be fully fit. Bosnian Ibisevic could not come for a medical as he failed to get a visa. And Rovers pulled back despite plans to fly to Germany to test his thigh strain at his current club.

Kean had teed up the Ibisevic move for weeks – with the deal structured in a way that came within his budget.

Rovers were due to pay £3.5million up front, with extras in installments. Kean may now go back for Ajax’s Moroccan striker Mounir El-Hamdaoui. However French side Lille are in for him now.

Eno u Hoffenheim vec pocinje plakanje. Navijaci su zadovoljni igrom, ali kazu da im naprijed treba jedan "knipser", dakle onaj koji ce loptu ubaciti u gol. Posto je Vedo takav igrac, mnogi nemogu da vjeruju da stoji na transfer listi.

Hoffenheim claim deal for Bosnian striker is not dead



Hoffenheim general manager Ernst Tanner claims an agreement could still be reached with Blackburn for Vedad Ibisevic.

Rovers have been tracking the striker for some time, with Steve Kean having made the acquisition of a goalscorer a top priority.

He was keen to have a deal done last week, claiming on Friday that he was only prepared to wait a further 24 hours for an answer from the player.

No transfer was completed, but Hoffenheim claim a move could still be pushed through before Wednesday's deadline.

Tanner said: "Vedad Ibisevic is from Bosnia and he holds a passport from that country.
Visa application

"Bosnia are not an EU country and you need a valid visa to play in England if you are not an EU citizen.

"A visa application is in progress but it has not yet been granted.

"Ibisevic needs to be ready for a transfer on Wednesday if this deal is to be pushed through. We have three days left to sort out a few more details.

"If all parties want to make this deal happen, we will reach an agreement. But we are some way off the moment."
