You cannot play like we do nowadays (without any creativity at all) and just accept that you cannot play your top earner player.
If Emery had any balls he would play Özil even if "the hierarchy" says don't do it, because it's his reputation and his career as a coach that's hanging on this season.
I'm not saying Özil is necessarily the answer, but if you are a proper coach, and your teams don't create a proper chance for consecutive games, and you have a player like Mesut, you simply put him into the starting lineup to try new ways. And if the issue is the management, you can at least keep your head up when you are fired.
