kazem ja kontinuitet. nije isto igrati svaki mec na nivou i odmarati svako malo. eno stef spoji 10 odlicnih partija i odmah je MVP. a onda 11. odigra katastrofalno. embid je prije povrede spojio najvise 8 utakmica i nije uopste igrao btb tekme. a evo vidjesmo sinoc kako to izgleda kada odigra 10 tekmi i onda jednu btb. ocajna 3 skoka i -19 +- (a taj +- su mu stalno isticali). skokovi opadose sa 11,3 na 11,1 a +- sa 8,0 na 7,3. 76ice sa tri uzastopna poraza evo ih sada imaju 20, taman koliko i nagetsi (a igraju na slabijem istoku) a i dalje su 1. na svom istoku dok su ovi 4. na zapadu. i onda se to 1. mjesto istoka toliko uzdize u medijima. sut mu je jedva iznad 50% i da dobija samo 10% manje slobodnih bio bi naravno ispod 30 ppg a sut bi isao ispod 50%. eno jokica poklope po obje ruke a broji mu se promasaj. vjerujem da ce embid do kraja pauzirati bar jos 1 tekmu, sto ce ga dovesti na ispod 75% odigranih utakmica. a ako ne bude tako, svejedno ce mu opasti brojke jer igrati bez i sa odmorom nije isto. jokic je puno svestraniji igrac koji ce, ako mu ne ide sut, imati 15 asistencija i razigrati ostale a opet dati dovoljno poena. nece forsirati. za razliku od ova 2, vidjeli smo sta bude ako stefu stane sut. o tome svjedoce i 51 d2 i 15 td jokica naspram 26 dd i 0 td embida i 8 dd i 0 td stefa. iako jokic ne juri statistiku. lejkersi isto odose na -4 u odnosu na denver i sve u svemu odlicna vecer za njih i jokica iako nisu igrali.

NBA media poll: Nikola Jokic is the near-consensus MVP

Nikola Jokic has taken a commanding lead in the MVP race, according to our HoopsHype media MVP poll for April.

As for the best of the rest, Stephen Curry has made the biggest jump while LeBron James has seen his MVP chances take the biggest hit compared to our March MVP media poll.

To determine the top contenders for the MVP award, HoopsHype anonymously polled 17 media members who voted on last year’s awards for their current top five MVP rankings.

As with the official vote, the top player received 10 points, the second received seven points, the third received five points, the fourth received three points, and the fifth player received one point for each ballot. Below are the results of the poll.

1. Nikola Jokic (Denver)

They call him the Joker, but his MVP candidacy is no laughing matter. The Serbian star leads the league in field goals (602), Win Shares (12.9), and offensive win shares (10.2), while ranking second in player efficiency rating (31.3), total points (1,531), and third in total assists (506) and minutes played (2,053).

With Jamal Murray out after undergoing surgery for his torn ACL, the Nuggets will continue to ride their franchise cornerstone more than ever.

While Murray’s injury is a blow to Denver’s title chances, forward Aaron Gordon told The Athletic, “We still feel like we have enough, especially with ‘Joker’ man. When you’ve got that guy on the floor, you have a chance to win every single night.”

2. Joel Embiid (Philadelphia)

Share of the vote: 65.88 percent of maximum amount possible (112p)

March MVP ranking: No. 1

Despite playing only 40 games, Embiid has been able to draw contact at such a high rate that he still ranks second in free throws made (401) and attempts (471).

It’s one reason why Ben Simmons, a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, believes his teammate Embiid should be the frontrunner over Jokic. “I don’t think teams know what to do when they’re guarding him,” Simmons said. “I think he’s clearly the MVP this season.”

Embiid leads the league in player efficiency rating (31.5) and also ranks second in usage percentage (35.6), and fourth in defensive rating (103.7) heading into the stretch run of the season.

3. Stephen Curry (Golden State)

Share of the vote: 25.29 percent of maximum amount possible (43p)

March MVP ranking: No. 7

Before facing the Wizards on Wednesday, Curry was the hottest player in the league averaging 40 points on an astounding 54.1 shooting percent from the field, 49.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 90.3 percent at the foul line with 6.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists in his previous 11 games played. For good measure, Curry made 10 or more threes in four games during that sizzling stretch.

Curry has since overtaken Bradley Beal for the league’s highest-scoring average (31.1) while keeping the Warriors afloat for a spot in the Play-In Tournament.

Schroder je u zadnje 2 sezone napravio ogroman skok, koji se ne vidi u statistici toliko. Odbrana mu je vec bila dobra prosle godine sa CP3 u ekipi, ove godine igra odlicnu odbranu kod Vogela. Schrodera trenutno zeza sto je jedini kreator u ekipi, sa jedino mozda jos THTom kojem treba jos iskustva. A toliki kapacitet u napadu on ipak nije i tesko da ce ikad biti. Kad se vrati Lebron, ovo bi moglo izgledati bas odlicno.

Stephen Curry’s hot streak has lifted the Warriors’ fortunes in the Play-In Tournament chase.

Stephen Curry’s hot streak cooled, but ignition for another battery of brilliance might be in the offing with Golden State scrapping hard for a postseason berth.

“It was a great run,” Curry said on the heels of a rough shooting night (7-of-25 from the floor and 2-of 14 from deep) Wednesday in a 118-114 loss to the Washington Wizards that slammed the brakes on his 11-game streak of 30-point performances.

“It was going to end at some point,” he said. “Now, you’ve got to start another one.”

That’s imperative for improving Golden State’s chances of returning to the playoffs, as well as Curry’s burgeoning prospects for capturing a third Kia MVP award.

Curry checks in at No. 5 in this week’s edition of the Kia Race to the MVP Ladder, and Denver’s Nikola Jokic maintains a firm grip on the top spot, as we head into the final month of the regular season.

Appearing on the Rex Chapman Show — which aired on Thursday — Curry became the latest of potential MVP candidates to lay claim to the award. In doing so, he joins the likes of Joel Embiid and James Harden. Asked by Chapman if he was the MVP, Curry didn’t hesitate.

“I mean, I’ve got to be,” Curry said, somewhat in jest. “I’ve got to be. I probably won’t get it, but whatever. I like to be dramatic sometimes. So, I’m just setting the table.”

Realistically, Curry faces difficult odds in making a legitimate case to win this year’s Kia MVP, especially when considering how a team’s win-loss record affects a player’s candidacy. The NBA expanded to 16 teams for the 1984 playoffs, and since then there’s never been an MVP playing for a team that finished the regular season seeded seventh or lower in their conference, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

Even when Russell Westbrook won MVP in 2017, Oklahoma City finished that season 11 games over .500 and earned the sixth seed for the postseason. If Golden State managed to run the table the rest of the way, it would finish the season 12 games above .500.

To date, the Warriors are 29-30 (.492).

Only two MVPs in history played for teams with records below .500. Bob Pettit won the 1955-56 MVP leading a 33-39 St. Louis Hawks squad, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar captured the award in 1975-76 playing for a 40-42 Los Angeles Lakers team.

Curry faces off against Jokic and the Denver Nuggets on Friday at the Chase Center, which will allow fans to enter the arena for the first time this season.

“We’re going to enjoy the atmosphere,” Curry said. “It’s definitely noticeable if you have even just 1,000 fans in the seats. It makes a huge difference in the atmosphere.”

1. Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets

Admit it, you expected Jokic and Denver to fall off some after Jamal Murray suffered a torn left ACL on Apr. 12. The Nuggets are 4-0 since Murray’s injury with Jokic averaging 29.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 7.8 assists over that span. In fact, Jokic has averaged 28.9 points, 10.8 rebounds and 10.1 assists in the 10 games that Murray has missed this season. As a testament to Jokic’s ability as a playmaker, each of the Nuggets’ starters scored at least 12 points in Wednesday’s win over Portland, which registered as the 20th consecutive win in which all of the starters hit double digits in scoring.

2. Joel Embiid, Philadelphia 76ers
Last week’s ranking: No. 2

Season stats: 30.1 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 1.4 bpg

Joel Embiid scored 28 points in a showdown with the Warriors this week.

Shaquille O’Neal considers this year’s Kia MVP race a neck-and-neck affair between Embiid and Jokic, but the Hall of Famer gives the nod to the Sixers big man because “he’s playing the game like he’s supposed to be playing.” As well as Embiid has played, Philadelphia is losing momentum, having dropped three consecutive games including Thursday’s showdown against fellow MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo. Embiid poured in 17 points in the first half on 8-of-15 shooting, but the 76ers trailed by 17 points at the half. Through the first three quarters, Embiid registered just three rebounds, compared to 11 from Antetokounmpo over that span.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks
Last week’s ranking: No. 4

Season stats: 28.5 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 6.0 apg

Giannis Antetokounmpo ran wild to fuel the Bucks' win against the 76ers.

In just his fourth game back after missing six in a row to start the month, Antetokounmpo helped Milwaukee snap a two-game losing streak to keep pace near the top of the Eastern Conference with a 27-point night in a 124-117 win over the Embiid and the 76ers. Antetokounmpo finished with a game-high 16 rebounds to go with two blocks and a steal. Playing in just five games in April, Antetokounmpo is shooting 62.5% from the field and just 18.2% from 3-point range. Antetokounmpo and Embiid match up again on Saturday in Game 2 of an early doubleheader on ESPN.

4. Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks
Last week’s ranking: No.3

Season stats: 28.7 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 8.7 apg

Luka Doncic goes for 30 in the Mavs' win against the Lakers.

Dropped a trio of 30 pieces this week as Dallas rebounded from two consecutive losses to secure a pair of victories in a back-to-back set against the Pistons and the Lakers. Over his last five games going into Thursday’s win over Los Angeles, Doncic was averaging 30 points on 48.6% from the field. Doncic is now just two 3-pointers away from notching 500 for his career. As you know, Doncic desperately wants Dallas to avoid the Play-In Tournament and reiterated as much after Thursday’s game. “We’re trying to get the sixth spot, maybe even better, to avoid the Play-In,” Doncic said. “That’s what we’re trying to do. We’re trying to win every game.”

5. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors
Last week’s ranking: No. 9

Season stats: 31.1 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 5.9 apg

Curry faces a steep climb into legitimacy as an MVP candidate, but his ascension this month has been a joy to watch. Curry has averaged 38.7 points over 11 games in April, shooting 52.3% from the field and 47.1% from range. “Usually, the trend of our seasons, or my seasons, [is] getting better as each game goes,” Curry said. “I’m glad this season’s no different; just trying to continue to get better and build that confidence of playing my best basketball towards the end of the season.” The teams eyeing spots in the Play-In should be a little worried about the possibility of facing Curry and the Warriors with the playoffs on the line.

Jokić ima 359 poena više, 184 skoka više, 377 asistencija više (a to mu dođe preko 800 direktnih poena za ekipu), 41 ukradena lopta više i samo 24 blokade manje od Embida.

Ovo nije vredno upoređivanja, ali jeste pravljenja buke radi podizanja gledanosti, što upravo i rade.

osim nekih bitnih clanaka ovo je prvi put da sam prenijeo sta je neko drugi napisao. i to zato sto se 100% slazem. a i ja sam pisao isto samo sto nisam trazio brojke (ja sam bio iznjeo samo za poene embida i jokica jer je bio fokus na tome kako ovaj eto daje mnogo vise poena) a to je lik uradio. a licna statistika je ipak najbitnija! ili je mozda bitnija statistika nekog saigraca? svi koji diskutuju se uvjek koncentrisu najvise na licnu statistiku. a sto se tice timova, oba tima imaju isto poraza iako je jedan na slabijem istoku a drugi na jacem zapadu. sto volim ove sa dugom pameti!

Denver ako veceras uzme GSW, izjednacit ce se sa PHI, jel Jokic kriv sto zapad ima bolje ekipe od istoka pa sa istim skorom ne mogu biti prvi na zapadu? Jel on kriv sto PHI koja bi uskoro mogla biti 5a u ligi, drzi prvo mjesto na istoku? Ne kontam ovo "licna statistika nije sve"..

Evo da malo poguram i luckya sa statistikom dodatnom, iako je dosadio vala koliko pokusava odbraniti neodbranjivo na ovom forumu...

pa u ovoj sezoni je 2-0 za denver protiv file (+12 i +9). jednom je embid bio povrijedjen a drugi (odnosno prvi) put je odmarao (!) jer je prije toga igrao btb. obicno ili propusti prvu ili drugu ili odmara nakon bkt tekmi. a dok je ovaj odmarao, jokic je imao +- +24 (za 29 minuta igre) na toj utakmici.
